WAAMLABZ | 2026 — Ongoing
Development of an integrated data acquisition and process monitoring system for wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). Signals from the PLC, power source, wire feeder, robot and thermocouples are logged continuously together with a recorded arc camera on a common time base, so every sample can be traced to the corresponding video frame. A remotely controlled pan-tilt-zoom cell camera gives an overview of the cell and saves timed still images with each log. Live gauges and plots, a 3D view of the deposition path and job-specific process limits with alarms support the operator during the build, while completed logs can be replayed and analyzed afterwards. The system supports ABB and Yaskawa robot cells with Fronius and EWM power sources.
